Crochet bunting...guerilla style!

Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who has come and visited my page, whether you're a seasoned reader or a new one- welcome! I am truly rubbish at replying to everyone who leaves a comment or follows me, but I do read every word and your constant encouragement and cyberfriendship means the world. Thank you! I will try and be better at this lark, I promise.

Recently, my multi-talented friend Stassia emailed me with a very interesting proposition. She'd been commissioned by the city council cultural events team to put together a group of guerilla knitters and crocheters to yarn-bomb the city centre as part of a special sensory festival at the end of September! I've bee thinking about putting a yarn bombing group together for a while, but couldn't decide if I had the time, or what the aim might be. So a brand-new group to simply join was perfect! We'll be installing some knitted and crocheted pieces throughout September, including miles of purple bunting, so Stassia asked me to create an exclusive yarn bombing bunting pattern...and here it is! With chelmsford's colour now officially purple, the only stipulation is that our contributions are purple! If you want to get involved with yarn bombing, here's a little pattern to start you off. Pattern notes:

This pattern is worked in half treble crochet, working the stitches into top two loops of the stitch of the row below. The Triangle measures 15cm across the top. Use DK yarn and 4mm hook, adjusting the foundation chain for larger hook or heavier yarn. Foundation chain should be an odd number of stitches to achieve this same shape.

Abbreviations:
Htr= half treble crochet (yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull back through- 3 loops on hook. Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on hook.)
Ch = chain
Htr2tog = half treble two together (yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull through two loops, two loops remaining on hook, yarn over, insert hook into NEXT stitch, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over,  pull through remaining loops on hook)

Chain 35 to begin.

Row 1: 1 htr in 3rd ch from hook. Work one htr into each st to end. Turn.

Row 2: 2ch, miss 1, 1 htr into each htr to last two stitches. Htr2tog into last 2 sts. Turn.

Row 3: 2ch, 1 htr into each st to end, turn.

Repeat rows 2-3 until 5 sts remain.

Next row: 2ch, htr2tog, 1htr, htr2tog, turn.

Next row: 2ch, htr3tog. Fasten off and weave in ends.
