Hello! I'm Kath, I'm 30-something and live in Essex with my husband and two sons in an end-of-terrace Victorian home. I consider myself very lucky to have a loving marriage and two gorgeous boys. I work from home as a freelance features writer, and latterly as a crochet designer. My first book, 500 Crochet Blocks, co-written with Hannah Elgie, was published in 2013. Since then I've regularly written patterns for the Art of Crochet, Simply Crochet, Let's Get Crafting, Inside Crochet, Love Crochet, Mollie Makes and have appeared in Homemaker magazine too. I work as freelance features writer for St. James's House (media) and I'm also the new subeditor on interiors and creative lifestyle magazine, 91!
Life is very busy, especially with two young children, so my crafty adventures are usually limited to crochet and knitting. I love to crochet, and feel hard done by if I don't get my hook out for a few minutes each day! I've recently started dressmaking, but I'm a bit scared of my sewing machine. Over the past few years I've been teaching crochet workshops at Make, Do & Mend in Chelmsford, and we've taken our stitchy skills to various Knitting and Stitch shows to teach the masses how to hook, but sadly the days of the shop are over, for now at least.
I love Wes Anderson movies, wearing my hair in a scarf, polka dots, yarn, retro furniture, Cath Kidston, Barry M nail polish and weeding the garden. I hate busybodies, wasps and weak tea. If you have any questions about any of my patterns or posts then please don't hesitate to get in touch at kathwebbercrochet@gmail.com
I also am a trained features writer and magazine editor, and have worked for many local and national publications. If you would like to commission me for a feature or crochet pattern, or even use my skills as a pattern tech editor, crochet teacher or proof-reader, please get in touch.
