Valentines crochet hearts...

Now I don't usually go in for all the valentines nonsense (though I do buy my hubby a card and usually cook him a nice dinner) but this year I felt compelled to crochet lots and lots of tiny tiny hearts.
These are super teeny, and super cute. And very VERY quick and easy. The pattern comes from my book, 500 Crochet Blocks, which is out this week! So I thought I'd share the pattern with you as a little teaser for the book. You can order the book here and it's out in shops on Valentines Day! How very apt that I share this crochet hearts pattern with you.

You will need:-
Any DK weight yarn (I have used remnants of Stylecraft Special DK in Pale Rose, Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Red, Rowan Kid Classic in Tea Rose and Annell Cotton 8 in that peachy colour)
3.5mm hook
Scissors
Darning needle

Pattern (in UK crochet terminology):-
Ch 5, join with ss to form a ring.
Ch 2, work 4 tr, 1dtr, 4tr, 2ch, ss into ring.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

SIMPLE OR WHAT?! I knocked up about 30 of these in just an hour.

Now what in tarnation do you do with them? you can tie them to some ribbon and make a tiny garland. Or you could use some festive washi tape to dangle them from a favourite picture, window or mirror...
Or even fill a printer's tray with them...
I'd like to say there are endless uses for these but we all know that they're just fun and cute. And what could be more festive than that?

Stay tuned for more book news later in the week...to celebrate the release I'll be doing a little giveaway!

Happy Valentines Hooking
