New home

Hello! Well it’s been a tough few weeks without the internet, I can tell you. I have SO much catching up to do on Blogger, Pinterest and all the other internet sites I frequent. We’ve been in our new house three weeks now, and the first couple felt like a holiday. Do we really live here? It’s bigger than I remember, and just lovely. Of course, every house has its quirks, so of course it isn’t perfect. But it’s perfect for us! Even though I meticulously planned where each piece of furniture would go, I am amazed that almost everything we own fits perfectly into this house. Even the bathroom bunting fits the window EXACTLY. Spooky! Our spare room is still full of boxes to be sorted, unpacked or put in the loft, and we are lacking furniture, going from a one bedroom flat to a three bedroom house. So a trip to Battlesbridge antiques centre is on the cards, as well as much thrifting to be done. So, you wanna take a look around?

Ok here we go…

Living room…

 Kitchen Diner…

Garden…

 Bedroom one…

and Albie’s room…

There’s no need to see the bathroom yet, needless to say it’s at least twice the size of our previous one, and the spare room is still full of crud. It’ll be a typical ‘spare room’, with CDs, shelving, sofa bed and guitars, but it has a lovely original fireplace and tons of light and space. The light and space of the whole house has surprised me- it looked small and dark when we viewed it, but it’s bright and comfortable. We just love it! The walls are all white at the moment, ideal for seeing what the light does. We will live with it just like this for a while, to see what (if any colours) we want to introduce. I am up for making the spare room a 1960s lounge, with mid-century furniture and a shaggy rug! Plenty of retro textiles scope in there. The main bedroom will be duck egg blue. We put up the curtains on Saturday, just cream ones until I make some. And here is the improvements we made to the kitchen wall on Saturday…

The kitch-en wall! We put the kitch in kitchen…I love it!

Can’t wait to share more adventures in our beautiful little home with you all very soon, including a couple of crochet projects to reveal. See you soon!

  1. What a gorgeous home! You look really settled in. I absolutely love your kitchen! We're currently juggling solicitors & estate agents, hoping to move in November. Am feeling quite excited about the homemaking part. Laura x

  2. Oh it looks so perfect! I bet you are so happy there. Glad it seemed even bigger than you remembered and that you still have room for more thrifty finds. Happy nesting! xx
