Granny times for granny days

I love autumn. The golden days, the amazing colours of the trees and hedgerows, the abundance of harvest. Though there is a sadness about it too. The bare fields being prepared for the long winter months, the dark, dark evenings and mornings, and a thought that we won't be able to spend much more time in the garden we've waited so long for. However, the autumn days are so full of wonderful things that any sadness is soon forgotten. Hot cups of tea, handmade scarves, kicking crispy leaves, and not worrying about 'getting outdoors and making the most of it'. Sunburn and wasp stings are nothing to worry about in autumn, we can just enjoy the beautiful light, gentle warmth and wonderful smells of autumn. Conkers, wood smoke, cake. Lovely.

I have been preparing my usual indoors pursuits without the guilt than one usually experiences when staying indoors in summer. Cook books, endless cups of tea, the odd hooky moment. Styling my home, a spot of chazzing, and some creative moments, happy moments, and family moments.

Granny time : : admiring my flying duck family on the kitsch-en wall

harvest time : : gorgeous tomatoes from my mum's garden
cosy times : : hooking, cook booking and tea
some charity shop finds : : vintage knitting needles in a chazzer vase, with a chazzer doily...
a fab charity find : : granny blanket perfect for cosy sofa times
from the same shop : : two amazing 70s dishes
happy times : : my man proposed to me! with a beautiful antique diamond and pearl ring, 18ct gold. we were simply enjoying the autumn sun in the garden over lunch when he popped the question. to celebrate we had tea and cake at Battlesbridge antiques centre. and I bought a Babycham glass. And some Babysham!

Hope you're all enjoying the last of the long days.
