A Blanket for a very pink baby...

My friend Kerry is a talented lady. As well as speaking fluent Spanish and I think French, she is a mean sewer, memo board and candle-maker and a fabulous crocheter. However, she cannot ripple. And to celebrate the impending arrival of her first baby (a daughter) I have of course made a crochet ripple blanket.

The finished blanket stats...

Measures: 60cm x 60 cm
Yarn: Rowan Cashsoft Chunky in Gala and Heather (Discontinued, but you could use any nice soft chunky yarn, or use two strands of Cashsoft DK), edged in Rowan Cashsoft DK in Donkey
Hook: 6mm, then 4mm for rows 2 & 3 of edging
Pattern: Attic 24's Neat Ripple Pattern, Ch 87 for foundation chain.

Kerry loves it, and I know her little poppet will too. I loved making it, I always love making blankets for babies that I know they'll treasure as much as their mummies do. I'm already onto the next ripple- a selfish autumn blanket that I cannot wait to show you (when I finish it!).

Happy Hooking!
