Ripple addiction...

I thought I'd share my progress with my ripply blanket. Remember I showed you the yarn the other day? well on Thursday I sat down and worked on my foundation chain and, after a few mis-counts, a few unravelling episodes and a lot of concentration, I can now reveal...

The WIP!

A ripply baby blanket for a lovely new baby. We do not know if it is a pink baby or a blue baby yet, as it won't arrive until January, so I have stuck to neutral colours that hopefully aren't boring.

The yarn is Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino Silk DK in:
Vanilla (shade 003)- Cream
Pebble (Shade 006)- Grey
Dilly (shade 0050)- Green
Carrots (shade 0219)- Orange

I worked the foundation chain as 75cm in length which,, according to Lucy's ripple measurements, worked out as a chain of 143 for the foundation, with five repeats of the 31 ch sample. I am using a 4mm hook, accoridng the yarn packet instructions...

And the mum to be just loves it!

See more ripply inspiration on Heather's blog here, Lucy's blog here, and Victoria's blog here...there is also a ripple-along Flickr group. I must say I am officially addicted to the ripple, there's no going back now! I have been rippling on buses, trains, tubes and even standing on the corner of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. I sure got some funny looks, I can tell you.

p.s. Sorry about the terrible light, it is draining. The colours are quite muted, but the light is not doing them justice. Hopefully on a sunnier day I will get outside and hook in the sunshine and show you more progress.
